  1. Express deals (2 days ago): $64 for 4 star hotel (probably Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel, resort fee $20) $59 for 4 star hotel and Casino (probably Westgate, resort fee $33.99) Bid up to $52 but no taker Last night, the $59 deal dropped to $45. Start from bidding $30 and got it at $42 with Westgate. Interestingly, the hotel confirmation clearly said "no hotel fee, hooray". I wonder what will happen when I check-out that morning, but I think I will still get charged resort fee eventually.
  2. A quick question is that "if a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal does not specify the mandatory fee, then am I sure that I'm not going to be charged for resort fee upon check-out?" We are going on a road trip to UT for Zion and Bryce NPs and will stay in Vegas for one night only (6/30-7/1). Thus we simply want a decent place to stay without paying too much. For the express deal I found this morning, it is at $59 and ~$73 after tax. 4-Star Hotel and Casino (7+, 2000 reviews) Las Vegas Convention Center Area, Amenities Free Parking Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities It seems like Westgate, but I remember there is a resort fee here. Thanks.
  3. Amenities: Free Parking, Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Airport Shuttle, Indoor/Outdoor Pool, No Smoking Room/Facilities The final total is ~$204, used the PRICELINE EXPRESS link at BB for the extra 5% discount It will be a day-trip to Disneyland at Anaheim for the weekend Here are what other PRICELINE EXPRESS deals for this price range: 3.5* (Angel Stadium) $96: free parking, free internet and bed choice available, no hotel fee when purchase Guessing it will be Alo Hotel, no resort fee and no extra for parking. 3* (Angel Stadium) $98, free parking, free internet, free breakfast, and show $10 hotel fee per day. It seems like the Best Western Meridian Inn... Also thinking about the PRICELINE bidding option, up to $85 still no go. I think the potential saving from bidding at this price range will probably get canceled out via hotel and parking fee around the Disney area. After factoring in the UBER fare ~$20 RT between these anaheim hotels and Disneyland, I think it is better to stay a bit away and just pay $20 parking at Disney.
  4. Hi all, It's been a long time to post new bid here, I have been renting apartments for longer stays. Need to spend a night in San Diego this weekend with my girlfriend. I have tried 3-star bid up to $90 and 3.5-star bid up to 110 (from Sorrento to hotel circle and skip downtown SD) and didn't get anything, not even in hotel circle which was pretty surprising to my past PL experience. At one point, I declined an offer of Best Western Premier Del Mar Inn Hotel $135 (bid $110), but I believe I was close and moved on. I tried it a few days later and I got this Sheraton at $120 (self parking at $15 daily). BTW, I agree with some other bid posters, regardless of cities where hotels are located, that PL bidding is no longer a bargain as good as before. It is one of the main reasons now I use apartment rentals for long stays. Offer Price:$120.00/night Number of rooms:1 Room Number of nights:1 Night Room Subtotal:$120.00 Taxes & Fees:$23.72 Total Charged:$143.72 Amenities: Free Internet (in Public Area) Pet Friendly Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible
  5. So I come up a sudden plan to see super-bloom in Death Valley, and then spend a night in Vegas. Since it is quite last-minute and a short trip, I decide to skip those casino hotels. Initially I plan to book Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel via PL the usual way, $129 (no resort fee) while only a few rooms left. When checking the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals, there was 4 star NV - Las Vegas (Convention Center) at $78. Interestingly, it did not specify any guest review rating and hotel amenities. It was totally blank! After researching hotels around the convention center, only a few hotels could possibly be close to the 4* level. E.g. Courtyard By Marriott Las Vegas Convention Center (3*) and Residence Inn By Marriott Las Vegas Convention Center (3*). Thus I'm very sure it should be Renaissance. I think my gamble paid off and got this nice hotel at a bargain. Room price:$78.00/night Number of rooms:1 room Number of nights:1 night Room subtotal:$78.00 Taxes & fees:$16.37 Total charged today:$94.37
  6. A quite interesting bid process. Started $52 with Memphis East yesterday (Mon) and gave me a one-time offer at $63 (declined) while Express deal from the same area was $77. I didn't get anything up to $67. I wondered why the one-time offer was lower than the Express deal, then I found out that another Express deal was at $66, but for Memphis Southeast. After bidding on PL for so many years, I decided to try again a day later while I still have enough time until my planned check-in date Today the Express deal is at $61 for the same area. Start from $52 and won at $56. Check-in:Sat, Oct 24, 2015 - After 03:00 PM Check-out:Sun, Oct 25, 2015 - 12:00 PM Address: 939 Ridge Lake Boulevard, Memphis , TN Phone number: 901-684-6664 Number of rooms:1 room Room subtotal: $56.00 Taxes & fees: $14.58 Total charged today: $70.58 Don't give up and keep coming back at a different date are what I have learnt from taking advantages of PL re-bidding system.
  7. Start bidding from $50 by $2 increment, was given a chance to get a room at $66 by the system, of course ignored it. Then got this one at $58. Will be the 4th time to stay at this hotel, no complain at all. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Sunnyvale 1300 Chesapeake Terrace Sunnyvale, CA 94089 Room Cost per room night $58.00 /per room night Nights 2 Taxes and Fees $24.48 Total Charges $140.48
  8. pl Express deals quoted the same area and star level for $78. Bid from $50 by $5 increment, and got this one for $65 with free WIFI. I was happy about it because it is a much better hotel for its price and star level around the area. Stayed here several times, and always succeed to get double bedrooms. Highly recommend! Courtyard By Marriott San Jose Cupertino 10605 N Wolfe Road Cupertino, CA 95014
  9. Express deals quoted the same area and star level for $70 Bid from $50 by $2 increment, and got this one for $60 with free breakfast and WIFI. The hotel claimed a lot of groups staying there that day and so no double bedrooms available. Anyway I never succeed to request one at the premise regardless of dates, but not a deal breaker. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Sunnyvale 1300 Chesapeake Terrace Sunnyvale, CA 94089
  10. Start bid at $33 for Mountain View $35 for Cupertino $38 for Sunnyvale $40 for Palo Alto $42 for Santa Clara (accepted) Extended Stay America - San Jose - Santa Clara 2 star Santa Clara 2131 Gold Street, Alviso, CA 95002 Check-In: Tue, Dec 24, 2013 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out: Wed, Dec 25, 2013 / 11:00 AM Rooms: 1 room / 1 night Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $42.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $42.00 Taxes & Fees: $12.67 Total Charged to Card: $54.67 I also tried 3 star for Sunnyvale ($49) and Santa Clara ($53), but no go. What I got this time is not too shabby.
  11. Plan to visit Monterrey during the weekends of various car events, but the cheapest hotel rooms are at least $150 per night over there. Instead, staying in San Jose and drive to the destination. 12. This time will come to South Bay with my family. Very clean and nice decor, and love this hotel a lot. Also very convenient with a lot of restaurant choices. 1st bid at $49: rejected, and the system offered $63. 2nd bid at $53: rejected, 3rd bid at $57: accepted.
