Hi there,

I'm looking at a 2.5* in San Clemente for 09/08/10 to 09/14/10 at $76 per night.

The amenities listed are:
-near the beach
-non-smoking
-breakfast included
-fitness
-pool
-business center
-laundry
-high speed internet

Amenties from Trip Advisor don't really match up, but through searching the hotel sites I think it's likely either the Comfort Inn and Suites or the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Does anyone have any idea which it may be, or if I'm totally off the mark? Thanks in advance!

The Hampton Inn does have a 4.0 TA rating whereas the Best Western does not, so i think the Hampton Inn is the better guess of these two. The Holiday Inn Express may fit as well, although it looks a little far from the beach, although i'm not familiar enough with this area to know just how far away it is.

Since this is an extended stay you could see if this hotel appears for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain' and determine the name of the hotel. If you're pleased with the results go ahead and purchase the balance of your stay; if not, make alternate plans for the remaining nites.

I was thinking about it this morning and that's exactly the approach I was thinking of taking! I was going to ask if that was something people often did on these sites and if you recommended it.

From what I can tell, the Holiday Inn Express is in the suburbs so I don't think it fulfills the "near the beach" requirement. I'm glad you think it's likely the Hampton Inn. It's got great reviews and I think would be perfect for my stay. I'll definitely try out the one night test approach and see how it goes.

I may not be booking for a little while but will certainly update when I do.

Thanks again for your help!
