This is our first time visiting NY and having problems with getting hotels in NYC on New Years Eve. The closest and cheapest I found was Hyatt Regency on Hudson which is next to PATH trains that connects to Manhattan. I want to know if I could get this hotel for cheap on Priceline. Is there a way to get this hotel on Priceline instead of getting 4* W.

This is the price I am getting at hyatt.com:

Check-in Date:
Thu 31 Dec, 2009
Check-out Date:
Sun 03 Jan, 2010

31-Dec-2009= 287.20 USD
01-Jan-2010= 132.00 USD
02-Jan-2010= 132.00 USD
551.20 USD Total Per Room
Additional Charges:
7.000 Percent tax
7.000 Percent occupancy tax
628.37 USD Total After Taxes

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 4* or higher in the zone you're bidding at.

If they have any inventory on PRICELINE is it the highest rate rate you need to crack in order to win the hotel. And I doubt that you will get a cheap win here.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

The W in Hoboken also has a PATH train just steps away, so does the Westin Jersey City. So any 4* in this zone is OK to walk to the PATH train to Manhattan, not just the Hyatt.

Thank you. That is the exact answer I was looking for. I'd give priceline a try for lower price on 4* in jersey city.

How long is the commute to Manhattan (exclude rush hour traffic)?

Also, I am trying to bid for a 3.5* in MTE/MTW/UWS to see if I get a good price.

all of the 4* hotels that i've seen in jersey city (westin, hyatt) and the hoboken one (W) are about a 15 min subway ride into nyc. the W might be the farthest, since it's about a 5 min walk to the subway station. the hyatt is adjacent to a subway stop, and the westin is across the street.

all 3 hotels are closer to the 33rd street station line (with stops on christopher street, 9th, 14th, 23rd, and 33rd street in nyc). if you want to get to the world trade center, you would have to take 2 trains, and it would be a little longer (maybe 25 mins)
