We stayed here Sept 26- Oct 3 for $110 a night and were very pleased.
Location! Location! Location! this hotel at State and Wacker right across from the Chicago River is nearby almost everything. North Michigan Avenue and the Loop and the Art Institute are all within easy walking distance, just to name a few places. The rooms are beautiful and we asked for and received a room with a great view of the Chicago River, having heard that in some of the rooms you are serenaded with the el trains running nearby. We also asked for and received a fridge and extra hangers. The hangers were necessary because there were only 4 drawers, 2 in the night stands and 2 in the entertainment center. The staff was very helpful including the concierge, but she lost points when she guided us to a pricy and just OK restaurant one night. Didn't see a kid the whole week we stayed there. That worked for us. Room Amenities: King Size bed, Aveda bath products, nice big TV. The "Business Center" is a Kinko's in the same building that charges .25/minute to use a PC. Wireless is available in the rooms for an extra charge. It costs $49 to park a car, so we bussed it and were able to get everywhere we wanted to go by catching a bus or train just outside the door. Check out the "Chicago Greeters" for a free tour around the area in the City you are most interested in. All told, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. |
