Are you often able to get same day priceline deals on hotel rooms so long as there is good availability?

if there is good avaibality, i don't see why you shouldn't be able to do bidding for an hotel room the same day. i heard people making bidding in the hotel parking lot before coming in!!!

Yes, "as long as there is good availablility" being the key words.

However, note that some areas don't allow same day bidding, and you can bid up until 11pm eastern time (regardless of the time zone of the area you're bidding)

I was successfully able to bid for a room at 7pm in Madrid, Spain.

Note however that the later you arrive, the higher the chance you will get a smoking or otherwise problematic room and the lower the chance you will be able to refute their "you were the last to arrive" argument.
