VA 4* Hotel Palomar $77 a day 8-18-09 to 8-20-09 (Tue and Wed night in August with heat and humidity and Congress NOT in session)
Wonderful hotel! Would stay here again in a hearbeat. Close to the Rosslyn Orange and Blue line only a block away. Parking only $30 a day/night.
Complimentary coffee in the morning from 6am to 9am and wine from 5 to 6pm.
The manager did remind me (slightly rudely) that he doesn’t have to provide a room with two double beds since I used priceline and got the hotel at such a great price. I told him that I was just bidding and I was lucky enough to get this hotel. However, they did find us a room with two double beds and it had a great view of the bridge to GWU (George Washington University). I think we were upgraded by get the room with two double beds, but it was a Tuesday and Wednesday. Manager said that we have most likely not been given two double beds if it was the weekend or if we were there many days.
There is no pool, but they said that you can use the pool at the Palomar in Washington, but they would have to call over first. I believe they had a workout facility (didn't check it out...walked enough in Washington).
Room was very comfortable. I wish there were more pillows on the bed. Great shampoo and conditioner (Aveno products). The only thing is that there is a mirror next to one of the beds on the bathroom wall, which was hard to access to check yourself out. In most hotels, there would be a picture where the mirror was. I would have moved the mirror to another wall of the hotel room. Great television. My friend ordered room service, which was great.

Get breakfast at the Cosi across the street. I love their raisin bagel with egg, spinach and bacon. On the way to the Metra there is a Chop T (salad place), Quiznos and McDonald's on Lynn street. Felt very safe even though some homeless people were in the park near the McDonald's.
There was a shuttle to New York parked in front of the Cosi also and you might be able to get a bus/shuttle to the airport from Rosslyn.

BTW, I was told by a native to stay away from the green line at night.
