Stayed two nights in this hotel, from 25 till 27 July 2009.

Check-in was easy and staff was very friendly. The overall impression of this hotel was good, although it was not a 4* (Hotwire now gives it a 3.5* rating, which is more realistic). Breakfast was expensive (16€ per person), so we ate elsewhere.

Upon check-in, we were asked if we liked an upgrade to one of the recently renovated rooms with riverside view, for 10€ extra per day. We decided to take the newer room. Room was clean, quiet, modern and had a nice view over the river (as promised). We did not regret the upgrade.

We would have been very happy with the hotel, if it wasn't for its location. The hotel is far from all tourist spots. Sure, you can get around by public transport, but you have to take a bus to the nearest U-Bahn station (Turmstrasse or Tiergarten). During weekdays, this bus service runs every 7 minutes, during weekends every 20 minutes. After a long day of sightseeing, we found the 30 - 45 minute commute from the city center to the hotel rather tiring.

Feelings about this hotel are thus a bit mixed. I'm sure you can get better deals for more centrally located hotels with Hotwire or Priceline.
