I booked two rooms for $25 per night using the PRICELINE link through this website. The dates of my stay were 7/12 - 7/17. Everything was as expected with the rooms - clean, good AC, etc. I only had two problems which were quite unexpected.

The Stratosphere charges a resort fee of $7.50 per night. I did not see this mentioned anywhere on the website, other reviews of the hotel, etc. It was a little bit of a surprise to us since the hotel does not have upscale amenities. Maybe I'm just naive and all Las Vegas hotels now charge this?

The other surprise was transportation. Almost every Las Vegas travel site mentioned a trolley that travels the Strip at no charge with the Stratosphere as one of its stops. Apparently this was discontinued a while back and you now are dependent on the local bus at $4 per person per trip if you don't have access to a rental car.
