problem with vowel mutation ?

Hi, I've booked a few weeks ago a Hotel with HOTWIRE (with link).
Yesterday I printed my confirmation and there was a problem with my name.
It contains a "ü" and I did not write "ue" and now in my confirmation is a free letter instead of a "ue" .
Will there be any problems at Hotel? There was a withdrawl on my credit card by hotwire, so I thaught everything's ok.

Second question: Do the Sheraton(Boston) and the Hilton(new york) accept Debit credit cards oder cash deposits?

Thanks for sharing your wins... i'm sure the information will benefit others both now and in the future.

I wouldn't worrry about it and just try to check-in, but check-in as usual (especially if the 'ue') is near the end of your name, as often the front desk clerk will simply enter the first few letters of your last name and then pick of the list the computer 'finds'. When you check in you can give them the confirmation page (with the incorrect spelling) while you first begin to take out your credit card, identification, etc.

If the desk clerk can't find your reservation then i'd 'help' him/her by suggesting searching for the 'ue' spelling. (citing "sometimes computers change the spelling to 'ue', can you try that") After all, the desk clerk won't likely know how ot enter the "ü" via the keyboard either! :)

If you did contact HOTWIRE and they wanted to change things, it would involve them calling the hotel and having them manually change things, and i just don't think this is worth the hassle and have things potentially get messed up further... but do bring their customer service number along just in case there are any problems (a good policy even when there is no 'issue' with your reservation), but i wouldn't expect to need to use it.

That's how i'd handle it at least.
