DH & I are looking to take a trip to Virginia Beach, VA this coming June. Since I’m the registered TA, I’ve decided to take a bold move and give Priceline hotel bidding a shot for the first time in an effort to save us some money. I’m totally clueless as to how it works though. We are looking at 3 star hotels or better in the Virginia Beach Area, Downtown Northfork and Pembroke. Can someone please explain to me exactly how the hotel bidding process works step by step? For instance, when starting the bidding process do I select all three areas first? When do they let you know which hotel? If I’m unhappy with the hotel selection can I reject the bid? According to the Betterbidding hotel list for Virginia Beach there are a few hotels that I like within my three selected areas, is there a way to ensure I can get a winning bid on one of them? Please help!

First I will answer some of your other questions.

For instance, when starting the bidding process do I select all three areas first?
You can but that then limits your rebids. You should read this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained

When do they let you know which hotel?
After your bid is accepted by the system and your credit card is charged.

If I'm unhappy with the hotel selection can I reject the bid?
No

No

After the last two questions you need to read and understand this information.

When you understand that I will be willing to help some more.

I've been asked by the Mods to update this thread before I can receive responses to a new thread that I started regarding pre-paid gas. FYI this trip was canceled...we never went.
