Well as the previous 2 posters have said.

$40 is the sweet spot for this hotel

(Hotwire have what looks like this hotel at $49).

Bid $35 (always the optomist :) ) through the PRICELINE link (of course).

Refused so added Lawndale (only 2* is the max) amd bid $39.

Refused again so added Manhattan beach (Not a 'free' rebid as this area goes to 3.5* and bid $40.-We have a car so no problem if we got here. Unlikely due to low bid).

There will be NO DISCOUNTS/REFUNDS due to renovation.

We're only overnighting for a flight the following day and have earplugs!

Hotel has a shuttle so we may dump the car early.

Thanks to previous posters for the heads up.

Thank you so much for posting your win and using the site's PRICELINE link! :)

Hopefully you'll be able to still enjoy your stay, despite the renovation work being done. However, for the price and overnight, great deal.

Enjoy (hopefully) your stay.

This is exactly why I thought this hotel would work. The shuttle does run 24/7 so dumping the car the night before makes a lot of sense. You can take the shuttle back to the hotel at night and to the airport in the morning. Much easier than dealing with returning a rental car that early in the morning. The renovation shouldnt affect you that much because you have such an early flight.
Happy Travelling, Randi

I hope you found my review helpful though I see you won't be staying until June. I am curious why you bid so far in advance.

I like to get things sorted early if possible. The flights are booked so we are committed.

$40 for a hotel at LAX is a good price (IMHO) so get it whilst its hot is my motto.
