Fort Lauderdale info

I'm going to be in Ft Lauderdale at the end of January. What are the highlights to see in that area. Things to do, places to eat, etc. I have never been there before

We were there in Nov 08. Honestly, besides the absolutely beautiful beaches, I didn't think there was much unless you go south to Miami. One thing I really enjoyed though was the water taxi through the intercoastal highway. We viewed the beautiful homes and yachts parked in front. Other than that...really not much to see in my opinon. If you are going to be there long enough, drive up to Kennedy Space Center or something like that.
