When you bid on PRICELINE.com, you enter your bid in US dollars.
However, if the zone you are bidding for is outside the US, the prices that the hotel uses are probably in the native currency. The hotel enters its acceptable bid prices in that currency, and then the conversion to USD happens as part of the bidding process.
So if a hotel has entered 50 Euros as its accepted bid rate, that would have required that you bid approximately $80 a few months ago. Now this will only require approximately $65.
Of course prices vary a lot because of the off season, weekends, conventions, trade fairs, etc. but the downward trend in USD is already evident in bids being reported here. Be cautious about using past bidding experience as a guide, without considering the effect of the different exchange rates.

Consider the impact of changing exchange rates in your bid price USD up against GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, etc.
