First time poster here, hi everyone :)

Im looking at booking a hotel on Hotwire but it only comes up when i put 3 nights in, i actually want to stay for the 2nd two nights but the hotel doesnt come up for just those 2 nights.

If i book it for three nights (its still $100 cheaper than anywhere else for two!) and then call the hotel nearer the time and tell them ive been delayed and i will only be arriving the 2nd night for two nights will this matter ?

many thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

We'd be in a better position to answer the above if you provided a bit more info (as well as possibly come up with a cheaper alternative than buying a nite you can't use)... what zone and hotel are you refering to? What are the dates of your stay?

I dont mean this in an offhand or ungratefull way but im not sure how the dates of my stay and which hotel im looking at would affect a response or answer to my question above ?

Dont get me wrong i appreciate any help however at the moment would rather not post the hotel and dates.

thanks again

Some hotels have different policies and are more flexible than others... so knowing the hotel you're considering would enable us to be in a better position to comment. Also, letting us know the HOTWIRE info would allow us to confirm your thoughts as to the hotel you believe you're seeing.

As well, we offered to try to:

...possibly come up with a cheaper alternative than buying a nite you can't use.

... for which we would need to know the date(s) of your stay.

Do you want to PM me the info?

Priceline's terms in regards to this topic differ from hotwire's. Current as of this writing on the HOTWIRE website:

Quote

Q: Can I check in later or leave earlier than the dates I booked?

A: If you arrive at the hotel after your scheduled check-in date, you will not receive any partial refund for the nights you did not stay at the hotel. Likewise, if you leave early, Hotwire will not provide any reimbursement for the unused portion of your reservation. All bookings made through Hotwire are final and cannot be cancelled, refunded, changed, exchanged or transferred.

The above implies that you can show up late and miss any portion of your stay and your reservation will still be honored, but you won't receive a refund for any nites you weren't able to use which appears to be acceptable given your situation. Of couse, i would definately still call the hotel the day before or day of arrival and let them know that you are not a
'no show', but intend on checking in one day late (and i'd create a good excuse, not that you 'changed your mind').
