dahammer
checked HOTWIRE before my bidding and was tempted by a 3* for $59 that appeared to be the LaQuinta in Clifton (Breakfast, Fitness, Pool, Internet), thought I could do better on Priceline. Started bidding at the 3* level at $65 in Secaucus-North Bergen and was rejected up to $91 by adding rebid zones and additional zones like Jersey City and Meadowlands-Rutherford. I lowered to a 2.5* in Secaucus-NB and bid $76, success!Your Offer Price $76.00 Taxes & Service Fees $19.92 Total Charges $95.92 the Rack Rate was $199, so although my first bid was accepted, I am pleased with the results as I've stayed here several times in the past. This is a true all suite hotel, not a mini suite rooms like Hyatt Place, Comfort Suites, or Spring Hill Suites. The housekeeping was always a bit off at this property, hopefully it has improved. The location of this property can't be beat as its within steps of several restaurants (all chains, though), and near a shopping center with supermarket, Wal Mart, Kohl's and Sam's Club. The NJ Transit #320 bus stops right in front of the hotel and NYC is only a 30 minute commute before 10:00 am. FYI, the LaQuinta Inn at 32nd St. in NYC was only $109 for today. thereuare
Congratulations on your win!If you venture over to the mall, about 90% of the stores are vacant (except for the anchor... Kohls and possibly the supermarket too) as the owners are in the process of clearing the tennants in order to renovate and modernize the property. Thanks for using the SavingsBarn.com PRICELINE links to begin your bidding and for sharing your win with the board.Enjoy your stay.
