I was reading in the tips section here someone reference Priceline's name your own price feature for hotwire.com
I cannot for the life of me find that on hotwire.com...
Every other week I like to book a 3-4 star hotel room for my wife and I, and though I've read to the contrary here, I find for my area hotwire.com is still cheaper. However, I think I'm going to try and use the name your price feature at priceline next time but if hotwire also offers this I'd like to know.
Thanks,
Mike =)

Welcome to BetterBidding!
There is no bidding on HOTWIRE
Although you have used the service(s) before, this is still a good read: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire

Thanks...I'm going to embarrass myself, that is the post I originally read and I read it wrong. I thought 'follows the same general theme' meant that they do the hotwire model (which you go on to explain) but also have a name your price model. Now I'm embarrassed.
So using the Priceline model, when do I find out if I got the hotel for that rate? Is it the day before? The day of? I'd like to get a good deal, but I'm not about to put everything to chance. If I don't get the room at the price I'd like to possibly go to hotwire and book something.
Also is there any benefit in doing it earlier than later? Or vice versa?
Sorry, real newbie here. =)
