$25 certificates for $1
Current code: JOY
OK folks, time to back the truck in and load up on Restaurant.com Certificates for the new year. I am not aware of this $1 promotion since this thread was started. The certificates are good for a year, so you don't have to use them right away. Check out all the terms and conditions and go for it. Are you traveling out of town, do you want to try that local joint, do you love a bargain? If you have never tried Restaurant.com, this is your chance.

A) Restaurant.com is a useful site and can save you money, but it's not as great as its ads make it sound. You're not really buying "gift certificates". A "$25 gift certificate", by definition, could be used to buy $25 worth of stuff. Restaurant.com $25 coupons can only be used to buy $50 worth for $25. So they're about like Entertainment coupons...a bit less than 50% discount.
There's really no reason to post their current price here. Certificates wander all over the place in price, usually from $2 to $4. Their current price is always on their web site without having to use any special code, and if you sign up with them you'll get incessant emails telling you the latest price. (buy now, great deal, only $3 for a limited time! Next day: now only $2! It gets comical.)

The percent off codes posted here are not advertisements for the amount of discount you'll get when buying a certificate (ie- 'save 60% by purchasing a $25 for only $10') but rather sometimes the $10 purchase price is discounted by 40%, 50%, 60%, etc... so the $25 certificate can cost you $4-$5-$6 during these times. There service isn't for everyone, but there are some who find this thread useful.
There's really no reason to post their current price here.

Very nice of you dahammer for updating people about Restaurant.com deals. This past week they just opened a Facebook page - The Food Family Restaurant.com. Right now it is a closed page, which I am not totally sure but I think means is by invitation only. I got an email and quickly joined in.
They are soliciting feedback on the page about restaurants, people looking for more choices in their areas, site functions and features. They explained that should a restaurant refuse to honor a certificate, you change your mind about a place, or a place closes up, they will refund you completely or you can get a credit towards another certificate. If you lose or forget what certificates you have outstanding they will re-send them to you in an email.
I find Restaurant.com very helpful and a good way to save money. Places around here that participate usually don't honor them on weekends, but that's fine, we use them midweek. Restrictions are printed on the certificates and are clear when you order them.
