VA Charlottesville Doubletree Hotel Options

Won this 3* hotel for $45 on 5/25/07. We had seen some mixed reviews of this hotel elsewhere on the internet, so we were a little concerned, but it turned out to be a beautiful hotel. The location is several miles north of downtown Charlottesville, so you won't be able to walk anywhere. The hotel has a restaurant, "Treetops," that looked nice but we did not try it.

Everything about the hotel looks brand new, but when I asked the desk clerk if they had recently renovated the hotel, she said they were actually just about to start a renovation! Not sure what they are going to renovate. There is a beautiful indoor pool and outdoor pool, lots of free parking, and our room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable, and pillows were nice. Nice bathroom with two sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. Table with two easy chairs, and a desk with another chair. Free wifi.

If you want a restaurant recommendation for Charlottesville, we enjoyed Bizou on the downtown mall (recommended on chowhound).
