I'm looking for a room in the central strip area preferably Planet Hollywood or equivalent that would be a good atmosphere for a group of friends in there mid 20s.

 

Found this deal on hotwire, can someone help figuring out what hotel is it?

 

$86/night for 9/29 - 10/02

It appears you may only be searching for 2adults/0children in your search as the only time i see rates under $100 for a 4* hotel in this zone is when searching for 2adults/0children:

Sorry, yes I was searching for two people. However, the Westin is a little further off the strip than desired but I can use it as a backup choice.  Do you think the $78 is a really good price for the value? 

 

I am open to all suggestions as I really am just looking for the best deal possible at a 3.5-4.5 star hotel in a central strip location for under $130/night (before resort fees). Just want to be somewhere right in the action as we are just looking to party and be social for the most part which is why I mentioned Planet Hollywood because I heard that was a good hotel for younger crowds.

Overall Paris may be just slightly nicer, although possibly a little less of a 'party scene' (although their outdoor Chateau Nightclub has great views of the Bellagio Fountains and a fairly new 'Beer Park') than Planet Hollywood.  Location-wise they are virtually next door to each other so no real difference in that regard.

My buddy actually just went to the hotel website and Planet Hollywood appears to be having some sort of a sale: 2 Queen beds for $115/night !  Is this a coincidence or is it generally a good practice to look at the regular hotel website too when searching for deals?  All my life I stayed away from the hotel websites thinking they were always going to be a higher price no matter what.

In my experience 'sales' at Caesar properties (which Planet Hollywood is part of) are BS... i attend a conference every year at a Caesar owned property so track/monitor rates fairly closely, each time i see a sale of x% off i check rates and the base rate has increased by the same percentage; thus making no change.

 

Did you change your dates from arriving 9/29 to now arriving 9/28, as that will lower the average price per nite since you're now including an extra (lower priced) mid-week nite.

Oh gosh I meant to say arriving 9/28 the whole time my mistake ugh, so yes I am looking at 9/28 -10/02.  So does this mean I can find it for even cheaper? Since I'm guessing I was comparing the $115 to your 9/29 rates.

For 9/28-10/2 i'm currently seeing the hotel website at $135/nite as the least expensive room with 2 Queens (which is the same price i'm seeing thru the 'retail' side of hotwire HERE (as always, confirm your dates on the landing page after clicking the provided link) .

 

If you're trying to target Planet Hollywood i would use this one from HOTWIRE that i believe to be PH:

Okay perfect I will go with that one. Lastly, it looks like PH has two types of room options for the 2 queen beds: 1) Ultra Hip Room (430 sq ft) & 2) Ultra Resort Room (585 sq ft). Does the "Resort" in the amenities give any hint to it being a Resort room instead of the Hip room? Resort room looks to be a lot bigger and more ideal. Although I believe it was actually the Hip room that was listed at $115 on the Caesar's website while the Resort room was listed at $137.

The 'resort' in the amenity description is relative to the hotel itself... not the room type.  You could try asking if there are any complimentary room upgrades available at the time of check-in (or tipping the front desk clerk in hopes of increasing your chances).

 

I'm still not seeing any $115/nite room thru any source (hotel's own website, 'retail' PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, etc)... maybe the price has changed since you saw it last nite? (as prices in Vegas change more often than any other hotel market especially when close to arrival like you currently are)
