The hotel gets very good reviews and is well located in the Fisherman's Wharf area.  Essentially it comes down to choosing if you want to stay in the Union Square East/West area or Fishermans Wharf... mass transit is pretty good in San Francisco so you should be able to get wherever it is that you want, and given how tech-centric San Francisco is i imagine Uber is pretty much everywhere as well.
