Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

 

I'm very familiar with NYC, is there something in particular that you're looking for and what is your maximum budget? (per nite before fees/taxes)

We just want to be centrally located with a budget of about $250 per night but that is flexible. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.  Thanks.

NYC is traditionally busy/very busy throughout much of the Fall and into the first half of December. While there is the possibility that prices can come down, there is also a real risk during this time period of them going up if you wait.

I will add that the NYC Marathon will be taking place over your dates (Nov 5th) and this is typically a very big draw for hotels and high demand.
