Traveling with wife and a 7 year old.

Would like to stay in a central location in Boston close to places to walk/take the trains. 

Checking in 08/29 - checkout 08/31.

Budget $100-$150 per night

Unfortunately triple occupancy in Boston is going to cost you closer to the $175 range for these dates to stay in a central location... is your budget flexible to handle this, do you prefer to go for a lower star rating and/or less central, OR would you be willing to risk booking a room for only double occupancy and then showing up with three guests and hoping it all works out OK (not really recommended but i do see a deal or two at under $150 but it's only for double occupancy and no bed choice is given, meaning that you could receive a room with only one bed)

My son may end up staying with his cousins - so a queen bed room should be sufficient for us. Thanks for the help.

==> from the Hotwire Hotel List matches previous reports for the Seaport Boston Hotel which would be my best guess for this one.  It's not the most centrally located hotel but the Silver Line T station is right there  to take you to the 'core' of the city (or about a 25-30 minute walk if you wanted to walk it), but it gets terrific reviews (#2 hotel in the city) and is a great deal at nearly half off of prevailing rates for these dates.
