qianshan
We are planing to take 2 kids(>9) to Boston by car, staying 4 nights from 8/26-8/29, then driving to Acadia NP. We plans to visit BC, BU, MIT and H, of course, boston common, freedom trails... Which area is a better place to stay? budget < $230/night, if in downtown boston, where to park the car for 4 nights? Thanks! Link to comment

thereuare
Thank you for sharing your win with the board. All PRICELINE reservations are for double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. When you need more than double occupancy HOTWIRE may be a better option (as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy per room) or PRICELINE EXPRESS where a 'Bed Choice' is shown and one of the bed choice options is a room that can accommodate your family (technically your reservation is still for double occupancy but i don't know of any reports of anyone having an issue when showing up with 3/4 guests when the specific room type booked is designed to accommodate that many) As for your situation above, this property does charge more for rooms with two beds, so the hotel would be within their right (imo) to charge for an upgrade to a room with two beds (assuming a 2 bedded room is available). I think your two options come down to: 1) roll the dice and see how it goes at check-in, maybe they'll see you have two kids and will automatically 'upgrade' you to a room with 2 beds 2) call the hotel (may want to wait a day or two after the reservation) and ask if you can get a room with 2 beds since (insert a good story here, such as) a relative was supposed to come up and watch the kids so you could get away for the weekend with your spouse and the relative just canceled, so unless you can get coverage for the kids they will now be coming with you (if you're told that the room only has one bed and they can't change it, i would then ask if it's possible to change to a room with 2 beds for an additional fee). Let us know what route you decide to take and how it works out. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck... and enjoy your stay.
