Do you happen to know how often different hotels "cycle" through Hotwire?  I know a lot of times I see what would be, yall have confirmed and have been successful after my purchases, the Four Points Sheraton, Best Western Plus, etc. Or is it once these particular hotels sell out, new ones come in?  How does it work exactly?  Not sure if you know or not, just thought I'd ask.  Didn't know if there was like a rotation or certain day of the week I should be checking to see different hotels popping up.

It's a bit more complex than the following and other factors are involved, but generally speaking the least expensive hotel(s) at each star rating and/or category in a zone is shown.  So if when the current inventory is sold (or pulled by the hotel) then the next cheapest hotel is shown... or a current listing can be replaced if a different hotel offers an 'opaque' rate lower than the hotel that is currently being shown.

Is there something in particular that you're looking for in a hotel for this stay? (or a specific hotel)

Oh ok, I see.  Yeah, I was really hoping to find the Four Points Sheraton as an option.  I had good look getting it with your help for a stay in March and also for a stay in June.  The location is superb.  The Hotel St. Marie is right there too and is one of the options but since Ive stayed at the Four Points before, I know what I'm getting.  Since my stay would be in next March, I have plenty of time to wait and see if the Four Points pops up as an option but then there's always the chance it doesn't and/or rates in general go up for the hotels that are available.

Currently the Four Points French Quarter is selling for $629/nite for your dates, so not sure if it's just early  or if they already have higher than expected demand/occupancy for these dates, but it looks like you would need to see a sharp drop in prices to start to see this hotel offered thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS in the $150 area.

I would book a back-up reservation now that you could live with just in case this property doesn't come down in rates at all and to protect yourself from hotels currently reasonably priced from going up in price.  Use our sister site RefundableRates.com to find/compare rates at hotels that have a liberal cancellation policy.  If you like the location of the Four Points i see the Prince Conti for $206/nite for your dates as well as the Hotel St. Marie for $212/nite... but you may find others that also work for your needs as you zoom in on the map and use the filter/sort functions at RefundableRates.com.

I am now seeing a 3 star for $201 a night for the same dates with the following amenities:  Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Kitchenette

Any idea on what this one might be?

I am also seeing a 3 star for $211 with the following amenities:  Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for hearing impaired

I think this one might still be the Hotel St. Marie but just went up on price?

Are you still specifically looking for the Four Points or open to other properties?

As these most recent properties are lower rated and more expensive than those in your original post, what is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes) for this trip and what price would be needed to lock in a deal at this point in time?

???

What is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes) that would have you lock in a hotel (if it was the Four Points or one of the others that you are after) at this point in time?

I would pay about $160 a night if it were the Four Points.  That's what I paid this year and last for the Four Points during the same weekend.

The first 3* is not the Four Points as the one above serves a Complimentary Breakfast which is not something offered by the Four Points, but either way, both are well over your current budget that it doesn't seem like either is of serious consideration at this point in time (nor do they seem like good values given that there are higher rated hotels offered for less)

Let us know if any hotels drop into your price range and we'll be happy to have a look, but i don't think it's worthwhile to research properties that are priced at $200+ when you're not willing to pay that much at this time.

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the upper right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion.

Yeah, still looking for the Four Points

Is your goal / search only for the Four Points or are you open to other properties?  If willing to consider other hotels, what is it that you're looking in a hotel for this trip (and/or the names of other properties that you would be willing to take at this point in time)

Have you adjusted your budget as both of the most recent HOTWIRE hotels are above your previous budget (which it seems if it was for your preferred property... likely less if not the Four Points)

Boutique
Fitness
Pool
Restaurant
Business
