AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. I would definitely be cautious about a HOTWIRE listing with only a 45% approval rating from customers paying a discounted rate. I think there may be more amenities than you have included above. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper tool and look in the EASY VIEW TAB, do you see additional amenities beyond those listed above? If so, please confirm the full amenity set and we would be happy to take a look. If you see: 3.5* Downtown Saint Louis for $78.00 Free Internet Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Golf Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> Guess would be the City Place Hotel 4* Downtown Saint Louis for $140.00 Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ==> The Hotel Magnolia has been seen with this amenity set previously, so that would be my guess. Are you still seeing the same PRICELINE EXPRESS listing when searching for checkin 8/9, checkout 8/11? I'm seeing when searching (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing after clicking the link below.) 4* Downtown St. Louis for $117 Free Parking Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities >>>If you are seeing this listing, my guess would be the Hotel Lumiere, which only gets 2.5/5 on tripadvisor. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Karrie Ann
Thank you for your help. Yes, I am just learning how to navigate all of this. As far as budget, looking to spend around $150 per night (or less of course), be as close to the stadium as possible because we are going to both games and will walk. I am really looking to be in the nicest place possible for that $150. In a perfect world, we would stay at the Westin, but I realize that unless I straight out book it there are no guarantees. There are two Priceline hotels that are 4.5*, the Westin and The St Louis Union Station Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton. I have been looking at the message boards and can't really tell...is there a way to find out which one is MORE LIKELY to accept bids in the name your own price section? THanks again for your help. I am using the links :) Link to comment
thereuare
11 hours ago, Karrie Ann said: Same Dates (August 9 and 10) To confirm, this is a 2 nite stay (check out on Aug 11)? When bidding on PRICELINE you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose, there is no way to target (or avoid) or have any insight as to which hotel it is that will accept your bid. Keep in mind that although i would say it's unlikely, your 4.5* bid could be upgraded to a higher rated hotel, and while the Four Seasons St. Louis would certainly be an excellent deal should you happen to land that at $150/nite or less, it probably doesn't serve your needs for being very close to the stadium very well (both the City Place adn Magnolia hotels are closer to the ballpark) Do the hotels above not get you close enough to the ballpark for your needs? Why not either of these hotels given both are within your budget? The Magnolia hotel gets excellent reviews and is a 10 minute walk to the stadium (or 4 minutes by Streetcar according to G maps) Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
