jerda
Hi There, I am looking for a hotel for 1 night (pre-cruise) in January 2018. I chose 3.5* and 4* in the Port zone and bid $115 and was rejected. Wondering where ($$) to start? P.S - Canadian 1st time bidder :) Thanks! Link to comment

jerda
Thanks for the quick reply. We need accommodations for Jan. 20, checking out on the 21st. My max budget is $150 USD ($200 CAD), although I am hoping to get something for closer to $120 USD. Just wondering how realistic that is for the location and time of year? Link to comment
AaronJB
$120 unfortunately would be unrealistic. I do think that you are probably looking at more along the lines of $150-175. You do have some time but I would keep an eye on rates as this is not a slow period. PRICELINE EXPRESS offers a 4* in the Downtown-Cruise Port-Convention Center for this night for $218 and a 3.5* for $208. thereuare
Just to add to the above that regular rates for 3.5*/4* hotels in this zone are selling for $269+ for your dates... so even something at $150-$175 would be about $100/nite savings vs. a conventionally booked room. You can easily see this type of information when you searching using our BiddingHelper.com tool and then click the GREEN "Is This A Good Price" button next to any listing... it will show you regular rates for hotels of this star rating in/around the zone. Keep us updated on your progress and how it goes... or if you decide to increase your maximum bid price and would like a bidding strategy we can suggest one for you to follow. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Good luck! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
