Hi,

I want to bid on "Name your own price" I plan to visit Las Vegas on Sep. 16-18 and want to bid on a 5* hotel on the central west.  I want to start my bid at $199.

These are the amenities its giving me:

Guaranteed Amenities:Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Casino, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Guest Score 7/10 or Higher

 

Are you able to tell me what Hotels I can end up with? I really want to avoid VDARA... and would like to get Cosmo, Bellagio, Nobu

Im trying to book a room for Sep. 16-18 on the central west zone.  I will try my luck and begin my bid at $199.  

 

I dont want to get Vdara.  Any hints on how to avoid that hotel and what will be my other option?

Few items to cover...

The Guaranteed Amenities shown on the bidding side of PRICELINE are amenities that are offered at every hotel in the zone at the star rating you are looking at, not amenities of a specific hotel that you would win if you are successful with your bid (in fact, at this point of the bidding process PRICELINE has not yet even checked inventory for your dates)

 

This is in contrast to PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE where the amenities shown are for a specific hotel that you would be purchasing.

 

As for avoiding the Vdara for this stay, you should be fine if you're only bidding The Strip - Central West zone since the Vdara is currently in the The Strip - Southwest... so as long as you don't include the The Strip - Southwest in your bidding you should be able to successfully avoid the Vdara.

 

If you let us know your maximum bid for this trip we will suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Thanks for the input. My highest bid would be $220, however I was planning on including Southwest zone with central west to better my chances. Since one of the amenities is casino wouldn't that cancel out Vdara? 

 

If I'm Bidding on a 5 star hotel with casino, it must give me a hotel with those requests, right?

If you go back to the PRICELINE bidding page and select:

The Strip - Central West

The Strip - Southwest

 

Next to the 5* it will only show a Fitness amenity... the Casino amenity (and the others you listed above) only appears when only The Strip - Central West is selected.

I got the Bellagio! I'm happy. Thank you!  

Now I'll keep my fingers cross for a fountain view.  Any advise on how I can get in on a fountain view?

I assume you won this thread a PRICELINE bid?  Can you please let us know the amount of your winning bid (or the room rate per ntie before taxes/fees if you purchased thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS) so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and our Priceline Maps.

 

You can try a $20 tip at check-in when asking for a Fountain View if it's worth that much to you (and you're willing to risk the clerk taking the tip even if an upgrade is not available)... although with a Saturday check-in this may be a bit more difficult since the hotel will be busier than if you were check-in midweek.
