I am looking at bidding on the 5 Star Hotels in Las Vegas - Central West.  When looking at the site Bellagio, Cosmo and Nobu only show up.  Dates looking for travel are Fri, 6/2 - Tue, 6/6.  The 5 Star Express Deal is at $187 but how low should I bid to try and get one of these properties?  Never done Priceline bid your own price before.  Much appreciated.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't use the 'retail' side of PRICELINE to determine what you will necessarily get when bidding, as each uses a different universe of hotels and there may be some properties that participate with one side of their service but not the other.

When bidding you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid... if you're looking to be able to take a guess as to which hotel it is that you may likely receive, or know a bit more about the property before you make your purchase (such as amenities, reviews, etc) then you will need to use PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE, both of which usually cost slightly more then if you had successfully bid on a hotel.

Based upon the above, what is more important to you for this trip... the absolute lowest price OR knowing more and taking a guess as to the hotel you may receive?

Also, is the Central West zone the only one that you're wiling to accept for this trip?  What is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/tax) for this stay?

I would like to get into the Cosmo, Bellagio, Nobu hotels.  Would also do Palazzo or Venetian or Aria.  Do not want the Vdara or Mandarin though so stayed away from those zones.  Hoping to keep at $150 or less per night.

So are you saying that if I select Central West, 5 Star on the Priceline, Name your Price tool it could return different hotels than are what in the Central West zone on the regular Priceline site?

When I did a test bid before hitting submit the guaranteed amenities are:

Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Casino, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Guest Score 7/10 or Higher

Thanks for help.

Correct, as there could be hotels that participate in one side of their service but no the other, or if you're including dates in your search, that they have made inventory available for one side of the service but not the other.

Assuming this is on the bidding side of PRICELINE, these amenities are present at every hotel in the zone at the star rating you're bidding... not the amenities for a specific hotel that you would be bidding on.  In fact, at this point in the bidding process PRICELINE has not yet even checked inventory for your dates (but they can list the amenities as guaranteed since EVERY hotel in the zone at that star rating has these amenities)

If budget is more important than hotel then i think you can get the Vdara for $138/nite, or your next best option would be (confirm your dates on the landing page of the provided link):

5* The Strip - Central West for $187
Pets Allowed
Business Center
Restaurant
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Casino
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
==> best guess here would be the Bellagio, and you could bring the price down a little closer to your target budget by using the link and discount in my signature

Or you can try bidding on PRICELINE and hope to land one of the hotels you are hoping for while also avoiding one of the hotels you don't want.
