Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help - 4/25-4/26

I have always had luck using this board for guidance and have gotten many great deals with Priceline bids in the past. I have a one-night stay in DC, arriving on 4/25 and leaving the next day. I would prefer to be in Capital Hill, Downtown, Downtown-White House or Convention Center-US Capital North. I'm looking for 4 star or above. I have bid up to $150 unsuccessfully, which is actually more than I really wanted to bid but I could swing that if I had to. I can't seem to find any events going on that day that would cause rates to be so high on a weekday like that, but am open to any tips or suggestions for that bid. Any help is greatly appreciated!

We're glad to hear that the information on the board has been helpful to you in the past, but with 'many great deals' we would expect more reported wins to the board than just the one San Juan hotel purchase in the 5 years since you have been a member here.

It would be appreciated if you started to share your wins so that others can benefit from the information, just as you are hoping to (and have) gained insight from those who have posted before you.

As for your trip above, it could be something as simple as the end of the cherry blossom season that is driving up rates, although i do see a film festival taking place during this timeframe as well.

The closest i can find to your budget is the following HOTWIRE offer:

3.5* White House for $154.00
Free Internet
Pet Friendly
Smoke Free
Restaurant
Hi-Speed Internet
Bathroom Accessible
==> i don't know what property this is, but i suspect that it's somewhat new to the HOTWIRE system as there are only 5 reviews of it so far (although positive that all 5 would recommend the property)... on further inspection this may be the Hotel Hive, which if it is of any interest, you may be better to book this refundable rate for just a few dollars more, as this way you at least know you have something centrally located and near your maximum budget, but the flexibility to cancel should something better come along in the weeks ahread.

Have you considered staying outside of 'downtown' and commuting into the city from the outlying area?

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
