I am going to Vegas with my friend 7/7-7/10. I have been bidding on hotels on the strip, but my bid is never accepted. I saw someone got The Cosmo in early July for $94/night. I have been bid up to $106/night, What is a reasonable amount I can expect to pay? I would love to stay at The Cosmo, Palazzo, Venetian, etc. I have been avoiding the Northwest section. So, any tips?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

5 star hotels in Las Vegas typically go for more than $100/nite, especially when including weekend nites, which 2 out of 3 of your nites are.

If you don't need a Casino property i'm seeing this offer (confirm your dates on the landing page of any links provided below):

5* The Strip - Southwest for $139
Pets Allowed
Business Center
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
==> best guess here would be the Vdara

5* The Strip - Northeast for $157
Restaurant
Airport Shuttle
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Casino
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
==> likely the Palazzo or Venetian

Both of the above quality for the current PRICELINE EXPRESS promotion in my signature.

You could continue to bid on PRICELINE but at current rates i think you will likely need to get into the $125-$150 (depending upon which zones you include in your bidding) to be successful.

You can absolutely overbid and wind up with the hotel you would have gotten if you'd bid cheaper. Bidding more in order to try to get something/increase the odds of something is definitely not recommended. You can potentially bid more than the retail price of a hotel and still wind up with it.

I started bidding at $90 on Northeast strip. Was really hoping for Palazzo, but would also love the Cosmopolitan. Kept my bids in Northeast strip, Central West and safe zones. Increased my bid by $5 with each addition. Started this yesterday. I got up to $148 this evening with Central West and Northeast. Still did not win. Used Bidding, helper to get the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal with an extra 5% discount. Got my room for approximately $148/night with a discount!

Did not check offered amenities prior to booking, but these are listed post win:

Amenities:

 Outdoor Pool

 Spa

 Shuttle

 Non-Smoking

 Gym

 Restaurant

 Casino
