mommachef
I tried naming my own price but failed twice. Not a whole lot of rebidding in these zones. I just wanted to get something booked and I had a 10% off code for PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals so I went for it. Listed price was $50/night, but I paid $45/night + taxes with the code. Room is $82/night elsewhere, so I am more than pleased! Amenities were: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Business center Indoor or outdoor pool Fitness center Non smoking Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. Very nice win for this property! Hope you are looking forward to your stay. Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE link to start your purchases and searches, as well as for letting us know about this new PRICELINE EXPRESS property so that we can update the site's Priceline Hotel List. This property does have breakfast, but there are are actually quite a few restaurants nearby, including Wildfire (https://www.yelp.com/biz/wildfire-lincolnshire) and Bonta (https://www.yelp.com/biz/bonta-lincolnshire-4). I'm familiar with the area and would be happy to answer any questions at all. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
mommachef
Awesome, thanks! I'll be attending a training near Vernon Hills High School. Any places nearby for a quick, healthy lunch? Link to comment
AaronJB
Happy to help! VH High School is near the core of Vernon Hills, which is basically Mall Town - one mall after another. Lots of options for a quick bite to eat, but most are fast food options, including Chik Fil-A, Corner Bakery (which does have some healthier options and which I do like more than the very similar Panera), Chipotle, Panera, Five Guys, popular local chain Portillo's and many others. There is a Mod Pizza (a Chipotle like "make your own pizza" chain) in Vernon Hills, which is quite good. I think Libertyville (which is really a very cute town) to the North and Lincolnshire (which is where your hotel is located) to the South offer better restaurant options. Libertyville offers a mix of things in terms of quicker fare, including Banh Mi Baguette (https://www.yelp.com/biz/bánh-mì-báguette-libertyville-6), Milwalky Taco (https://www.yelp.com/biz/milwalky-taco-libertyville) and the Picnic Basket (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-picnic-basket-libertyville). Libertyville is also a nice little downtown to stroll around, with shops including a fairly nice (if somewhat pricey) spice store (https://www.yelp.com/biz/kitchn-and-spice-shop-libertyville) To the South, I do like Bonta, which is tucked away in a little strip mall. Very good pizza/calzones, but also very nice soups/salads. Walker Brothers (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g36265-d1107333-Reviews-Walker_Brothers-Lincolnshire_Lake_County_Illinois.html) isn't healthy, but that is basically an institution in the area. Overall, the area nearby is quite nice. Once you start to get further away, there is a wider variety of restaurants, including things like Longitude315 in Highwood (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g36130-d3661913-Reviews-Longitud315-Highwood_Lake_County_Illinois.html). and La Casa de Isaac (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g36129-d938752-Reviews-La_Casa_de_Isaac_Mexican_Restaurant-Highland_Park_Lake_County_Illinois.html). Further away, things like Abigails (https://www.yelp.com/biz/abigails-american-bistro-highland-park) and Bluegrass (https://www.yelp.com/biz/bluegrass-highland-park). Hope you enjoy your stay.
