Hotwire Hotel: Need suggestions for a hotel in New York 4th-5th

Hi guys

 

First time poster here. I haven't used hotwire uptil now, but it seems like the best option for me needs. I am seeing my girlfriend after a really long time and wanted to book a hotel in New York for a day, before we drive back to my house 4 hours away. Could you guys suggest what would be the best bang for buck for me. I am not sure if you guys only suggest which hotel it is or do suggest hotels based on preference and prices as well. 

 

I dont care about the location that much, but downtown would be preferable. I dont want to go to the boroughs. My budget is anything less $140. Ofcourse, id prefer the best hotel within that price range.

 

Appreciate your help. Let me know if i am asking the wrong question or posting this in the wrong section.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes March 4th to March 5th. Also it would be nice to have next to the bus station. Not a necessity though, i can always grab a subway and go.

These end up being around $180 with taxes, my max budget is $150 all in. I apologize i dint mention that. Can there still be hope of a 4.5 in downtown under $150 w/tax

The above is still the least expensive 4.5* or better offered for your dates and it appears to be in the zone you're looking for.  As well, it has an excellent 9+ user review rating by previous PRICELINE guests, which should make it worth the extra $10 all-in that this would put you over your ideal budget (forgo a round of drinks, buy a bottle of wine at a store and drink it in your hotel room before heading out for dinner, split an appetizer instead of ordering two, etc... plenty of ways to save $10 in order to put yourself in this well reviewed property)

 

Alternately you could try bidding on PRICELINE, but you then have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star rating (or higher) in the zone(s) that you choose, and you could easily land a different property where the reviews are not as stellar as this one.
