aduffin
I am staying in cancun over christmas at the 5 star aqua live cancun hotel. My girlfriend and I decided to extend 3 days so I'm looking for a good deal in cancun at a 4 or 5 star maybe all inclusive hotel for 12/26-12/27. If there is a good deal in playa del carmen I am open to changing areas. I would like to stay under $250, it may be better to wait until last minute. Link to comment

thereuare
Thank you for closing your previous threads. 8 hours ago, aduffin said: it may be better to wait until last minute. Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your arrival, but keep in mind that a LOT of people take vacation during this timeframe so hotels may be more likely to be closer to full than empty... which would imply that rates move higher as they get closer to being sold-out. 8 hours ago, aduffin said: maybe all inclusive hotel for 12/26-12/27 Do you really want to change hotels 3 times during this trip? Seems like you have a lot of variable still undecided (one hotel for 12/26-12/29, one of these nites potentially at an all-inclusive, etc), but to get started, i think you're budget may fall a little short at this point in time... searching HOTWIRE for your complete set of dates and filtering for 4* and higher i don't see any hotels that are priced at $250/nite or less (increasing the price range bar shows the least expensive at $263/nite in the Isla Mujeres zone) At the moment i think PRICELINE EXPRESS may be having technical issues as they are not showing any results for these dates (i doubt that there are no offers, as i also saw this for a search for a different user earlier today). Assuming PRICELINE EXPRESS rates are similar to HOTWIRE, what are your current thoughts/gameplan? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
