Welcome to Betterbidding.

I think there may be more amenities than you have included above. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper tool and look in the EASY VIEW TAB, do you see additional amenities beyond those listed above? If so, please confirm the full amenity set and we would be happy to take a look.

If you see: Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business

The Holiday Inn Lower East Side and Wyndham Garden Chinatown have been both seen with this amenity set previously, although these are very common amenities.

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Thanks for your quick reply, Aaron! Betterbidding seems great!

I did as you said and the full list is the following:

FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access

With this information, is your best guess still The Holiday Inn Lower East Side or Wyndham Garden Chinatown?

Yes, both the Holiday Inn Lower East Side and the Wyndham Garden Chinatown have been seen with this amenity set, so that would remain out best guess for the HOTWIRE offer above.

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the upper right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion.

A new amenity set for The Redbury New York would be my best guess for the HOTWIRE offer above.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello,

I am still looking for a hotel for our stay in New York from 22 Oct  until 30 Oct 2016, and am interested in trying Priceline hotel bidding. Our preference would be to find a 4-star hotel in the following Priceline zones:

- Union Square - East Village

- West Village - Meatpacking - NYU

We are looking to pay around 170 $ per night (including taxes). Is this realistic for these zones, and if yes, do you have a bidding strategy to propose?

If the above is not realistic, we would then, as our second option, be interested in bidding for a 4-star hotel in the Empire State Building Area. For this area, we would hope to win a hotel with around 160 $ per night (including taxes). Again, is this realistic in your opinion, and if yes, do you have a bidding strategy to propose?

Many thanks!

BR, Milla

The prices above are not realistic, imo.

There are not a lot of 4* hotels in the Union Square-East Village zone, so few hotels available to accept your bid price, and with little competition, rates in this zone are often not discounted very deeply (especially during peak season, which your dates above are part of)

In the Union Square zone the lowest 4* i see available is the Hyatt Union Square which is selling for $428/nite for your dates before taxes/fees.. so a $170 all-in price is not realistic and would likely be substantially more.

Adding the ESB zone you're likely look at a bid price (again, before taxes/fees) for $200-$225/nite... which at current prices i think is about the ballpark you're looking for a 4* hotel in any of the central/convenient areas of NYC.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

PS- if moving forward by bidding, to avoid any confusion, please list your maximum bid price (before taxes/fees) as it makes providing a bidding strategy much easier and also keeps all rates post to the board consistent
