NOLAJeff
Greetings! My brothers and I are headed out to finally make our first trip to see the Cubbies! We are staying near O'Hare tonight and our friends are staying at the Gwen downtown. How can I find a deal somewhere close to the Gwen? We have a room currently booked at the Ohio House Motel, but I think we can find something better since they are charging $195 for the one night. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thereuare
Few thoughts (although you didn't say what your target budget is, so i only want after trying to beat the $195/nite in terms of price and/or quality): You can search our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, putting in the address of The Gwen (521 N Rush St, Chicago, IL 60611) and seeing what is within a 1 mile radius. Filter the results by using the price slider ($0-$195) and zoom in on the map to see the trade-offs between proximity, star rating, and price. Just a quick search (confirm your dates on the landing page) i see the Inn of Chicago for $179/nite and the Courtyard Downtown/Magnificent Mile for $180/nite, both are within a few blocks of The Gwen... but you may find more options searching further on your own. Other thoughts (again, confirm all links on the landing pages): Much nicer but about the same money as you back-up would be this 4.5* Mag Mile - Gold Coast hotel for $178/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess here would be the Hyatt Mag Mile which gets great reviews and puts you about 4 blocks from The Gwen I'm also seeing this 3.5* Magnificent Mile -Gold Coast for $151 Business Center Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> The Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile would be my guess here should you be looking for something a little cheaper than the 4.5* above (but for an extra $10-$15 each i would be inclined to go with the better reviewed Hyatt Mag Mile, imo) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
