cnikone
Needing to find a 4* hotel for dates 10/11-10/14 for a family of 4. Small children so looking for something close to subways and a lot to do in the area. Considering Times Square, SOHO, East Village, Rockefeller. Would we be able to find something in the $150-$175 range? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. With NYC and quad occupancy, I would really recommend HOTWIRE (where you can search for 2 adults and 2 children, which should result in some form of bedding for the entire party) or PRICELINE EXPRESS (where you can look at listings that offer bed choice.) With the way that NYC hotels are, if you bid, you could easily wind up (even at the 3.5-4* level) with a very small room with little or no room for a rollaway. Via the HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS routes, unfortunately, you are likely looking at more the $225-235+ area for these dates in Midtown (more depending on zone), as the Fall in NYC is traditionally a busy period in the city. HOTWIRE does have a 4* in the Lower East Side-East Village area for $189 when searching for 2a/2c w/Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. These amenities are common so it may be something else, but this amenity set has been seen with the Wyndham Garden Chinatown, so that would be my guess. Bidding would be cheaper, but again, in NYC you definitely run the risk of one bed (versus a city like Orlando, where it's easy to get a room with two beds.) Let us know your thoughts on the above and if you have any additional questions and we would be happy to do further research and offer additional thoughts/suggestions. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
