Looking for a hotel near Times Square for 9/30 thru 10/03

looking to pay under $200 for 4*+.

disappointed that I missed out on the $100 midtown deal last week.

 

do not have to stay in Times Square region, anywhere close is fine (Rockefeller, MSG, MTE, CPS etc...).

Best guess for the HOTWIRE offer above would be The Shoreham, with a secondary guess of the W New York still a possibility as well.

==> best guess for this one would be the Le Parker Meridien New York

==> InterContinental The Barclay, which has recently gone thru a major renovation, would be my best guess here

Thanks.  The thing that confused me about the 4* Hotwire deal was the 85% recommended number.  It looks like the W is 77% recommended and the shoreham is 82% recommended.

 

any thoughts on this?

 

Thanks for the other options.  The thing I don't like about Le Meridian is the extra resort fee.

The percent recommended by HOTWIRE is an internal number that is not displayed publicly by HOTWIRE when the hotel name is showing (the 'retail' side of HOTWIRE uses a number from Expedia).  Also, this is not a reliable indicator as we have frequently seen this number change from one search to the next, even for the same hotel.

 

You'll have to decide if the 'all-in' price of the Le Meridien is worth the expense (as all guests pay this fee regardless of how booked)... if not, what about the guessed InterContinental Barclay?

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.
