Texfly
My first 2.5 star bid at $50 was rejected, but the hour was late and the wife and kids were tired, so I upped the ante to $55 and it was accepted. This property appears to have originally been a Hampton Inn, or similar, built about 20 years ago. The property is currently undergoing remodeling, but we didn't see or hear any construction during our stay. The lobby is very nice and modern, with leather sofas and a large flat screen tv. Much nicer than expected! Check in was busy for 10:00 pm, with five ahead of us, but we got our room in a reasonable timeframe. Rooms were clean, with fresh sheets and a nice HDTV with many more channels than I expected (60+). Bathroom was dated, but clean. A/C worked well. Elevators made strange sounds and had an off smell to them. Didn't enjoy riding them to the fourth floor. Pool was clean and clear and the kids swam well past the official 11pm closing time. Breakfast, served 6-9:30 am, was very good and actually had hot egg frittatas and sausage, with muffins, bagels, pastries, cereals, fruits, juices, toast, etc. Bottom line - Property is starting to show some age, but is still enough of a class act to make it worth a stay. Thanks for the tip... a $275 i-Hop check would make this almost a free stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Texfly
Thanks thereuare. This is a great site! I should mention that I think this is the same 2.5 star hotel on Priceline Deals (or whatever its called) that goes for $59 in this area, so by bidding you may save a few bucks. Link to comment
