GaryM
How much should I expect to pay? Should I wait til the same day? Is Priceline my best bet? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm seeing very little availability for these dates... is there some event or conference taking place in the city that you're aware of? GaryM
I am not aware of any special events coinciding with these dates. We are traveling for leisure. My previous experience with Priceline has been good IF you wait to book until the last minute to book. Would you recommend this approach again? We'd like to be walking distance to downtown. thereuare
We have seen plenty of examples where great deals were had at the last minute... we have also seen plenty of deals that were available months in advance and while the user 'watched' things rates went higher and never returned to the previously seen lower levels. However, i will add that with just 5 days to go before your check-in you already are last minute. I don't know what is happening but something does appear to be taking place in the city for these dates. I have loaded the links before to include your dates of travel see the best rate available at each of the 4 star hotels below: Hilton Nashville Downtown Omni Nashville Hotel Renaissance Nashville Hotel Sheraton Nashville Downtown Union Station Hotel Currently all of the hotels above are showing sold-out / no availability for your dates... so while it's certainly possible that the hotel gets an unexpected number of cancellations in the next few days, i would think your chances of landing a 4* hotel were better a few weeks/months ago when there was (i assume) availability at these properties. So given the above, if you want to try bidding for a 4* hotel what would be your maximum bid? Assuming that fails, do you want to reschedule this trip for a different set of dates, change locations, or go for a 3.5* property (where i think you can likely get something in the $100-$120 range)? GaryM
i probably wouldn't want to pay more than $150 a night ( 3 night stay ) Would my bid carry more weight if was a 3 night bid? Link to comment
thereuare
A 3-nite stay is usually a non-factor, but if it does play a role, it's usually to the downside. Are you ready to start trying now for a 4* hotel in the Downtown zone up to $150/nite? If so, we can suggest a strategy for you to follow. If you're not successful, what is your gameplan?
