Hi,

Traveling to San Juan 8-16-8-20-2016 and would like to do a name your own price. When I enter the zone condado in San Juan it offers 4.5 stars but when I look at regular hotel list there are no 4.5 star hotels in the condado region of San Juan. Any idea what hotel this could be?

Thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Although not a good bet, it's possible that there are no 4.5* hotels in this zone and any successful bid would be upgraded to the 5* level.

Is there something in particular that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip?  What is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes) for this trip?

Hi

we have been to San Juan a couple of times and we will be there for 4 nights before our cruise in August. We have stayed at the caribe hilton which was fine and embassy suites. I would love to stay in a different area like Fajardo at the Conquistador or Casitas but it might be out of our budget. Before resort fees I don't want to spend more than about 130-135 a night. I worry about doing a 4 star in condado through priceline because of how many there are that we can wind up with and the four stars in fajardo get very mixed reviews. I thought priceline makes the stars gray if there are none of that star level hotel in an area that's why I was surprised to see that I was able to click the 4.5 star rating for condado. I was hoping maybe it was La Concha. We really want a hotel with a beach.

thanks

This is the case 99%+ of the time, which is why i say above it's a bad bet to assume otherwise, but it's speculated that there are some instances where if there are no hotels at a given star level (like 4.5* in this example) but are hotels offered at a higher star level (5* in this example) that PRICELINE will show the 4.5* category as 'active' and any bids won at the 4.5* would be upgraded to a 5* hotel.

I am seeing the well reviewed Condado Vanderbilt Hotel for $140/nite (just over your budget but very well reviewed) so i'll mention it in case there is any interest in this one.... as well as the El San Juan Hilton for $132/nite.

Either of the above work for your needs?

I will take a look thanks! Do you know what the four stars are in Fajardo? There are two for express deals the first one says:

4 stars for $74 with casino, pool, gym, pet friendly and 7+ rating

the other is 4 star $133 and the only amenities listed are: business center and fitness center.

thanks

Are you sure that is the complete amenity set for the $74/nite property as i'm seeing the following in this zone when searching for your dates:
$74

Pets Allowed

Business Center

Restaurant

Free Internet

Indoor or Outdoor Pool

Casino

Fitness Center

No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

==> if this is what you're seeing the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa would be my best guess

For the $133/nite hotel i'm seeing:
Business Center

Fitness Center

No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

==> my guess here would be the El Conquistador Resort, but when i click the offer to investigate further i get a message that the offer is no longer available (which is why i'm less certain as i'm unable to research any further)
