Hotwire Hotel: 2.5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Royal Resort

Hi Everyone,

I'm booking a trip to Vegas in october. Bunch of guys just planning on buddying up 2 to a room and getting whatever Hotwire reveals to us.

My question is, I know the trick of selecting 3 person when searching to ensure 2 seperate beds. But I've noticed some of these rooms are suites and thus just have a King bed and Pullout sofa. Of course we'd much prefer two queen beds. I figure I can hopefully avoid this by not selecting rooms labeled as suites but I am also wondering if rooms labeled as "Condos" may also have the same problem? Any tips on things to avoid to be sure I can get a hotel that offers two queen beds?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Some PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE offers now offer a 'Bed Choice' during the checkout process that will ensure 2 beds (vs. a more general 'accommodations for everyone you include in your search')

Do you have a firm set of dates and the number of rooms you will need for the group?  Do you have a target budget, star rating, and/or zones in mind?

We are okay with staying in different hotels between our big group so it will just be 2 guys per room. I would like 4-5 stars center/south strip. The only requirement being two seperate queen beds. Dates Oct 16-Oct 19. $160 a night max (not including tax and resort fees)

Hoping the Aria might fall in price to this at some point but seems unlikely.

Are you seeing listings on PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE within your desired budget range that offer a bed choice with two beds as one of the options?

If so, please list the full set of amenities, star rating, zone and price per night before taxes/fees.

I'm not following...

So are you only booking one room for yourself and one other person... or are you not yet sure how many rooms you will need?

Currently $160 for a 5* hotel is not in the cards... are you willing to drop down to a 4* hotel at this point in time or are you holding out for a lower price for a 5* hotel (like the Aria you mentioned)?

I will add that there are three conventions of 10K-15K each taking place over these dates for a total of 36K attendees which is likely effecting demand at this time.

Yes just one room for me and one other person. We would like 2 queen beds though. I've been selecting 3 adults to ensure we don't share a bed but I want to avoid getting a King and a Pullout sofa combo as well. Is there anyway to ensure this? Should I avoid listings labeled as "Condos"?

Not looking to book right now seeing as it's likely the prices will drop around 2 months before our desired dates. Just wondering if there's a trick to getting two queen beds when a bed choice button is not available.

If you're hoping to avoid a King + pullout sofabed you either need to choose a HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS offer that give a Bed Choice option where one of the options offered is for two separate Queen beds.  In this instance you don't need to include a child in your search since you're given the bed choice that you can choose.

Once you're ready to book let us know if you see any offers that show a room configuration that would work for your plans, while also meeting your star rating, zone, and budget requirements, and we will have a look and try to offer some insight as to which hotel(s) it may be.

Seems rare to find a bed choice from what i've seen.

Can anyone answer these questions for me:

Are hotels labeled as "Condos" or "Suites" all just 1 King bed and a Pullout Couch or do some rooms have 2 Queen beds?

Also,

For results not labeled as Condos, I.E.: Casino Hotel, Resort, ect.: Do these hotels mostly have rooms with 2 Queen beds or is there still a chance I will get 1 bed and 1 pullout sofa when booking a room for "2 Adults and 1 Child"?

With the discount services:

If you get a listing with bed choice on PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE, then you should get the selected bed type upon arrival.

If you bid, you are not guaranteed a particular bed type. You may wind up with one bed, you may wind up with two. You can call and ask the hotel but the hotel may say no or charge an upgrade fee. There is no way to know what they will say: can depend on the city, hotel, day or even who you talk to.

If you enter more than four people on HOTWIRE (2 adults, 2 children for example), then you should get some form of bedding for the entire party. That may be 2 beds, 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed. Again, you can call to ask the hotel for a particular bed type and they may say yes, no or charge you more.

If you take a PRICELINE EXPRESS listing with no bed choice, you can call but they may say yes or no.

A hotel may also just note your "request" for a particular bed type on your reservation but there's no guarantee that will be available at check-in.

So, in general, if you *need* two beds, I would look for a listing with bed choice that states two beds as an option. Otherwise, there is no guarantee of what bed situation you may end up with.

I think there may be more amenities than you have included above. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper tool and look in the EASY VIEW TAB, do you see additional amenities beyond those listed above? If so, please confirm the full amenity set and we would be happy to take a look.

If you see:

  • 1 year later...

Was the above thru HOTWIRE? (and thru their 'opaque' service where you didn't know the name of the hotel prior to your purchase)

If so, can you please provide the amenities that HOTWIRE associates with this property (including any accessible amenities)... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT >> MY TRIPS link near the top right of their home page.

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.
