Priceline Hotel: 3* New York City (Brooklyn) Sleep Inn Prospect Park South

Is it too late to start trying for a hotel in downtown Brooklyn? I will be there for a race so definitely want to stay in Brooklyn. 

I bid CAD$147 and it was declined. 

 

Looking for 3-3.5 * in Downtown Brooklyn 05/19-05/21.

Currently Priceline Express prices:

3* - CAD $236

3.5* -  CAD $247

 

What would be a reasonable amount to bid?

As PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels are 'opaque' (just like bidding, you don't know the name of the hotel until after you make the purchase) you're not likely going to see a 40% discount when bidding.  While we often do see discounts of 40% (or more) thru PRICELINE EXPRESS, this is based on 'regular' retail hotel rates and not a discount from another 'opaque' service.

 

Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* or is the least expensive 3* or better your goal for this trip?  What is your maximum bid (in US Dollars) for a hotel for this nite (and the maximum bid at each star rating if different)  Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel that will work for your needs this trip?

My goal is to be less than US$182 which is the least expensive 3* avail through Priceline express. The 3.5* is US$191, which would also be acceptable if a 3* is not available.

When bidding 3* in the NYC area you have FIVE re-bid zones.  If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

I'm seeing $204 as the best price for a similar Priceline express listing (my top bid was $180). Yesterday a similar express listing was $191.

I don't know the name of this 3* Brooklyn hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $204/nite with Free Breakfast, Business Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities... but today is the last day for the discount in my signature and at the top of the page, which effectively brings the price down to $183/nite, just $3 more than you have already bid.

 

My guess for this 3.5 star Brooklyn property (again, confirm your dates on the landing page) with only a Restaurant amenity listed would be the Hotel BPM Brooklyn... with discount the $213/nite comes down to about $191/nite, which if the BPM is convenient to your race location, it may be worth the few extra dollars over what you have already bid (one of the issues with this zone is that it is geographically quite large)

Ended up using your link for a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Pretty disappointed that I got Sleep Inn Prospect Park South. Crossing my fingers that I'll be pleasantly surprised.
