Hi there,

I'm looking for suggestions for likely prices for Priceline Name Your Own Price.

Details:

September 15th-16th.

NYC

Zones: Midtown East, Grand Central, Rockefeller.

Stars: higher the better. Ideally 4.5 or 5.

Budget: TBC. $300 - $400.

Any advice on where to target and approx what price to start at would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Heski

For a 4.5* or better you're likely looking in the $275 area.

Let us know if you're ready to bid now and if $275 is an acceptable maximum bid price and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow based upon the 3 acceptable zones above.

Few options at this point in time...

PRICELINE EXPRESS has this 4.5* Madison Square Garden hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $254/nite with:

Pets Allowed, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

==> best guess for this property would be the Even Hotel New York Times Square South, and although not in one of the zones you listed above, this is a new hotel and gets excellent reviews

If this is of interest you may want to just take it thru the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer since if bidding you could land a different property.

What appears to be the Westin Grand Central (Midtown East zone) is offered on HOTWIRE for $217/nite and is 4.5* rated thru HOTWIRE... but only a 4* by PRICELINE's standards/rating system.

Let us know your thoughts if you still want to take the well reviews MSG offer thru PRICELINE EXPRESS, the 4.5* HOTWIRE offer, or continue with bidding (and if the latter, if you want to stick with your original zones and/or budget)

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you were able to receive a hotel within your budget at the star rating and zone you were hoping for.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
