Hotwire Hotel: Ft. Lauderdale hotel for pre-cruise stay

We are looking for a nice hotel (with 2 beds) for 2 adults and one child, that has a shuttle from the airport, free breakfast, and that isn't far from the Cruise Port.  What AREA should we concentrate on in Ft. Lauderdale? It's really confusing with the choices: Port Everglades (good choice, but higher prices), downtown, and then FLL North, FLL South.  FLL South seems to have better pricing, but are the hotels as nice, and will a cab ride to the port be inexpensive?   TIA!!

Would one bed and a pullout sofabed (or rollaway brought into the room) be acceptable as the second 'bed'?  How old is your child?

What is your desired star rating and what is your expected budget (before fees/taxes) for this trip?

No, needs to be 2 real beds.  Husband has RLS and we can't sleep with him!  Child is 7 years old.  2-3 stars is fine.  Looking for reliable airport shuttle, and free breakfact.  A transfer to the Port would be nice, but not necessary.  Honestly, what Hotwire is bringing up doesn't look much better than what I'm finding through TripAdvisor.  Are the fees and taxes included in the Hotwire price?

Given you're not sure of the HOTWIRE hotels that are being offered i'm not sure how you can conclude that the prices are no better than what you're seeing elsewhere.

If you click the HOTWIRE offer, then click the BOOK NOW (or Select a Room Choice) option you will see the total all-in price.
