Hi,

we are 1st time travellers (a couple and a 5 year old kid) to the states and reaching new york from los angeles on the 13th june and will be staying for 4 nights.

We are confused as to what area we should stay in. We would like to visit the statue of liberty, central prk, some show, bus tour, etc ...

Budget is around 200 Or lesser.

I would prefer to use the express deal feature - pls suggest area and possibly which hotel would it be.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

To get started...

Note that all PRICELINE hotels (whether thru bidding or PRICELINE EXPRESS) only guarantees double occupancy, and most NYC hotels have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed, little/no space for a rollaway, and rooms with two beds often cost extra and are an upgrade from 'standard'.  Some PRICELINE EXPRESS listings show  a 'Bed Choice' option where you can be assured that the room will accommodate the needs of 2adults/1child (although technically your reservation will still only be for double occupancy... with a 5yr old i wouldn't be too concerned about the hotel causing a fuss if you book a room that can easily accommodate triple occupancy)... but if you choose  a PRICELINE EXPRESS offer that does not show a room choice (or bid on PRICELINE) then the hotel would be within their right to assign you a room with only one bed (or in a rare and very extreme situation deny you a room unless you paid extra)

In addition to PRICELINE EXPRESS offers that show a Bed Choice, HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in the search (while this often means 2 beds, the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc).  As well, regardless of how many adults/children you search for some HOTWIRE hotels allow you to choose the room configuration (just like the Bed Choice option from PRICELINE EXPRESS)

Given the conditions above what is your 'comfort level'... booking for double occupancy without any room designation, booking for double occupancy with a specific room type that you know can handle 2adults/1chid, or only indicating the actual occupancy of 2adutls/1child on the reservation? (this last option may increase rates and/or limit your choices)
