Bid of $110 was accepted for a total price of $135.41 with taxes. It showed a hotel fee of an additional $30 on the page before you submit the bid, but it does not appear to have been charged to my card or shown in the total on the confirmation page. Tried $200 for 5 stars and $190 for 4.5 stars and failed. Thanks for the help from this site!

Any resort fees shown on the bidding page is a 'worst case scenario' and the amount of the hotel with the highest resort fee in the zone (at the star rating you are bidding).  If there is a resort fee it wouldn't be included in your PRICELINE purchase (nor on your credit card at this point) and would be payable directly to the hotel at check-out.  Of course if the hotel you won does not charge any resort fee, then none would be charged or paid directly to the hotel.
