whenpigsfly
PRICELINE EXPRESS deal $76 3.5 star I was hoping for the AC but this will be fine for a one night stay in downtown Chicago. Amenities Business Center indoor/outdoor Pool Restaurant Fitness Free Internet Non Smoking It looks like the ac and the Holiday inn mart plaza have been reported with the same amenities. The only one I see different is non smoking (are all hotels in in Chicago non smoking?) Going to have to look for a parking deal. Parking is $62bucks through the property yikes! Link to comment
thereuare
While not your first choice in the zone, glad to see you're pleased with the deal and can make this work for your needs for one nite. In your post you mention the AC Hotel and the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza... but your topic title indicates the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown River North, can you please add a reply to this thread confirming if you won the Courtyard or if it was actually the Holiday Inn that you received. Thank you for sharing your win with the board... always feel free to ask the board for help before your purchase as we can often take a good guess as to what it is you may be about to purchase (which can confirm or negate your own suspicions) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. There are a number of garages nearby that will be moderately cheaper, but still very expensive. The Millennium Park/Grant Park garages used to be even less, but I think those have gone up somewhat, as well (although the Millennium Lakeside garage is $32, http://www.millenniumgarages.com/millennium-lakeside-garage/.) Those would be a further trek away from the hotel, but a nice walk. Please let me know if you have any city questions. Enjoy your stay. This is a very nice Courtyard in a great location in River North. Link to comment
whenpigsfly
This was a win for the Courtyard River North. Sorry if I stated that poorly. On parking I called the hotel and asked if there were cheaper options nearby thru their recommendation found $25 at a suface lot less than a block away on Rush street. I would also also say that I really don't consider a courtyard a 3.5 star property and the beds were worn and bouncy but still relatively comfortable. the value of the deal was still very good. thereuare
Thanks for the follow-up / clarification. While it doesn't sound like it was the perfect hotel, glad to see it worked for your needs for the nite and you found it to be a good value for the price paid.
