Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Encore Las Vegas

Hi everyone, 

It has been quite a while since I've used BetterBidding so it is not surprising that the hotel list has been shuffled around and changed.

Based on the list, is it safe to say that it is a little more difficult to get a 5* on strictly on the Strip because the 4-seasons has been added to the "Strip South" grouping?

What I am looking for is a 5* hotel, (no Trump or 4-seasons) from the dates of 5/13 - 5/16 with a max budget of ~$150. What is the approach now?

What about the Venetian at $151/nite or the Palazzo at $153/nite?

The Venetian/Palazzo would be PERFECT because I have family that have a room there and I want to be close to them.

If there are hotel or hotels that are possible when bidding that you don't want, then you have to avoid bidding. There is no tactic to avoid a particular hotel (ex,, Trump) when bidding (for example, 5* North). HOTWIRE is a better choice in this situation, where you can look for a listing with casino.

I have been looking for this same weekend/star rating.  The PRICELINE EXPRESS "unlocked" rates pop up for me every once in a while for the Venetian at $147/night on priceline ($627.69 after taxes/fees/resort fee).  Definitely don't bid on 5* anymore though for North Strip....you'll get the Trump and be irate!

 

HOTWIRE currently has two 5* North Strip Casino hotels available to me:

 

- $143/nt@95% recommended = $606.65 total (but no tax added to the resort fee of 29/night...so add a few bucks)

As Aaron said above, these are probably the Venetian and Palazzo (though I am going out on a limb by saying the 95% I see is likely the Palazzo as the $152 room lists "Laundry" which seems to be tied to the Venetian).  Furthermore, you can likely rule out the Wynn and Encore because there are two additional 5* north strip listings for $228 and $226 presently that will undoubtedly be those two hotels.

 

For what it's worth, the PRICELINE EXPRESS Unlocked deal for the Venetian was $115/nt for these travel dates a month ago when I started looking but I didn't bite (trip wasn't 100% at that time)...live and learn!

Thank you for your help everyone, sorry about the lack of update but I finally pulled the trigger. 

 

However, my dates changed and I had to book from 5/13 - 5/15. 

 

I used HOTWIRE and the cheapest 5* room that wasn't Trump was $199/night.

 

I really thought it was going to be the Venetian/Palazzo but it turned out to be Encore, which is a great room but  that puts me away from my friends.
