AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. Unfortunately, $100 is really primarily seen during the slowest periods of the year (Jan-early Mar). I think you could maybe get something in the $120-130 range but no guarantee of free wifi. This is not a slow period of the year (and it's sometimes more difficult to find a deal for a week or more together in NYC.) A 4* for $100 is not going to be realistic for this period - a 4* will likely take closer to $200 per night (or higher/much higher, depending on zone.) There is a 3* in Times Square North on HOTWIRE w/Boutique, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $134. While it's $134, you'd have free internet so that cost would not be a factor. If you bid, there's a definite chance of winding up at a property that does not offer free internet. Le Link to comment
thereuare
At current rates you will likely need to be near $200/nite... so your $100 expectations are not realistic. If you search using our sister stie MAPS and HOTELS.com (after your search filter to show only 4* and higher hotels, then zoom in on the map to look at the Times Square/Central Park South section of Manhattan)... what's the best deal you're able to find for a conventional booking? (this will give you a better idea of hotel prices for these dates, which is the start of high-season) So you're going to have to compromise somewhere... either in budget, star rating, or zone. thereuare
We will suggest a strategy for whatever amount(s) you would like, but a few comments/suggestions: -note that at the 4* level the CPS contains the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms, would this be an acceptable outcome for 9 nites? -rather than pick one price, make a big, and then try higher at another time, better to choose a realistic bid amount that you're willing to pay, then use a systematic bidding strategy (which we can suggest for you to follow) which starts low and gradually increments to the maximum that you're willing to pay -include as many zones that area acceptable in your bidding as it will give more hotels the opportunity to accept your bid, which translates to the lowest price possible -what was the best price you were able to find for a hotel using the MAPS and HOTELS.com method described in my previous post?
