I used your [url=http://www.betterbidding.com/clicks/click.php?afsrc=1&id=40]PRICELINE[/url] link.   :)  I realized Galveston's Mardi Gras started 01/29 and was needing a hotel for one night pre-cruise.  I decided to go for a 3 1/2* in the Galleria area:

 

Bid $50 - 3 1/2* Galleria - rejected

Bid $52 - added Zone 10 (highest star rating in zone 2 1/2*) - rejected

Bid $54 - added Zone 7 (highest star rating in zone 2 1/2*) - accepted

 

Total with taxes, fees,  and cancellation protection = $73.59 "You Saved 37%"

Hotel is $9 self park, $15 valet, and free wi-fi

 

I think I got a pretty good deal for Friday night near the Galleria booked 2 months out.
